Hi Andy,

The current latest version of JAWS is 2018.1807.8, I would advise installing from your update CD if you have one, check is all ok and then let it update itself to the very latest version.

I am running Mozilla Firefox version 52.9.

If you go to the Firefox help on the menu bar you will find a section on keystrokes

Hi Gary.

Thankyou for that.

My Win7 computer is currently running JAWS 17.  However, at a recent seminar in Glasgow's mitchel's Library, I was able to upgrade to version 20 for £99.

Not installed yet, but going with your advice, Firefoc should be compatible. Is this right?

Very best wishes.

Andy.

Andy,

Some time ago a new version of Firefox was released which used multi core/threading techniques which neither NVDA nor JAWS could support.

Screen reader users were advised to install the Extended Support Release ESR version of Firefox as an interim measure.

The latest versions of NVDA and JAWS now support the new version of Firefox.

I am guessing that from the error message you are running an older version of JAWS or NVDA. your choice is either to upgrade your screen reader or stick with the ESR version of Firefox, which you can download from the Mozilla site.

Cheers

Hi all.
After many weeks of problems, perhaps from IE, I decided to download and install Firefox 3.
however , after the installation, JAWS announced that there was an
incompatibility issue between Firefox and my screen reader and advised me to "switch to firefox extended use..
Does anyone know what this means and how to resolve this issue: please?
