Steve, will Google Lookout only work with Android phones, or can the poor
iPhone users get it either on the phone or a Windows device?

Hi Shane,

I think Google Lookout has gone one better than bar codes.

It's only in beta now, but what it does is take an image of the whole product
label, not just the bar code, send it up to Google and gets you the product
information.

Take a look it's free, and I believe it's the future of product identification,
not using bar codes specifically.

All the best

Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Finding Barcodes on Products

Hi everyone,
I just published a blog post about how to find barcodes on products, and
thought you might find it useful. I use several iOS apps to scan them, but the
most frustrating part is doing that efficiently. To try and solve the problem,
I braved the supermarket for an hour and figured out some general rules about
how to find barcodes quickly.
Let me know what you think!
