Hi

It definitely supports plextalk devices, I saw that in the
list of devices when I was activating my stream today.
Didn't specify which plextalk gadgets though.

Jackie - Audable

Hi Jim.

OK, I might be wrong about the Plextalk Pocket since I don't
use one,
however all the other players I mentioned are supported for
sure so sorry
for any confusion that may arise.

There are two annual membership plans for Audible, 12 book
and 24 book
respectively. These will cost you £69.99 and £109.99 but
you can use your
credits to buy anything on the site except for subscriptions
to newspapers
and certain of the advanced learning language courses. Also
these plans can
be renewed during the year so if you do feel you want to
read more, you can
do so without having to wait until your new credits are
issued. Anyone can
buy books at the full retail price, however members often
get exclusive
discounts, weekly offers where books are discounted to
£7.99, 30 and 40
percent off deals etc. etc. as well as free giveaways.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi Is there an annual subscription charge for Audible, how
much, and is
there any additional charge for each book?

Also, I thought I read on this list that the Plexic Pocket
doesn't support
Audible.

Hi Alfred.

I currently have something over 200 titles in my Audible
Library, so if you
define that as a good experience *smile*, then most
definatly I have. I use

an IPhone and have never used a Kindle Keyboard, so perhaps
someone more
informed than I can answer that question for you. If you
are familiar with
talking books from the RNIB then you will know that from
time to time they
get permission to use a book from Naxos, Isis etc. While
this is excellent
and commendable, it often takes quite some time for RNIB to
bring out the
very latest titles unless of course we are talking about
very high profile
books, where as Audible has a raft of Christmas releases
already on its
shelves, a few of which I am currently enjoying. In short,
if you want to
buy high quality digital audio books which you can enjoy on
most devices,
you want the very latest releases or you just want to choose
from a very
diverse range of books then Audible is without doubt the
best audio book
site on the net. RNIB does have its place though so I do
maintain a
subscription to their talking books service.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Thanks Ibrahim, to clarify, I could listen to an audable
book read by human
voice on KK and this would be a higher quality of reading in
terms of
punctuation, pace etc, than the tts on KK at present. How
about navagating
a book though, I would be restricted on KK. Have you found
Audable a good
experience?
