[access-uk] Fatal Error sorted out

Hi
Thanks to a wonderful friend my computer is now alive again and luckily I
didn't lose anything.
I want to keep this computer running for a few more months until I can
afford to buy a new one early nest year.
Regarding Service Pack 3? How can I stop it from downloading and is it
necessary to download it?
We still haven't got to the bottom of why the computer switches itself off
so don't want to risk it downloading again.
Could I do it via disc instead?
