Hi

I've never ever seen the point of these social networking sites either. Perhaps I'm missing something. Apart from anything else, I don't have time for gossip like that!

This is why I don't really bother with it.

I mean Why do I need to know that one of my friends has just made a cup of tea and is now going to bed?

The stuff folk right is so so crud it's unbelievable to be fair.

I believe there are two different numbers from which you receive the messages from, one is for United States and the other an International one (the latter I suspect is not free). Hopefully someone who does this can give you more info. Facebook is meant to be different but have edged closer to Twitter which has more recently caught the online public imagination. In truth they were meant to be different things, Twitter a micro blogging portal and Facebook a full on social networking. To add further to confusion it is possible to post tweets into the status updates of Facebook. I have seen many people do this, personally this can be a bit tedious if all they are frequent posters of the type of thing "I'm having sausage eggs and beans" followed by "just paid for meal and walking somewhere" type posts.

Hi. I have opted for SMS notifications to be switched on in Facebook.
I'm not getting them for some reason and Facebook did state that the messages are free. My other question is about status. Is my status displayed on my friends page? I would like to know the difference between twitter and Facebook. They sound like different tools for the same job.
