Hi Alex,

I don't think it's OT at all.  Twitter's own client is pretty basic, so
third party apps are important.

All the best

Steve

third-party Twitter clients

Hi all,

I sincerely apologise to the list moderators for forwarding this message
from Jonathan Mosen, which may be considered  possibly slightly OT, as it
relates to twitter, but I thought some list members who  use twitter may
want to read the below message and particularly the article linked to in the
message.

clients

Hi everyone, developers of some of the third-party Twitter clients have
formed a coalition called Apps of a Feather, to let people know about
changes that will seriously break third-party Twitter clients. I urge you to
read the article here.

http://apps-of-a-feather.com/

Even though developers have been trying to communicate with Twitter for over
a year, Twitter hasn't responded until the coalition's statement today.
Suddenly, after immediate and significant backlash, Twitter issued a
statement saying they are delaying the deprecation of the features in
question. Funny how they can act in such a short time once they have been
exposed for treating their developers so poorly.

It's really important that all of us who care about this issue follow the
advice in the article about how to let Twitter know that we value
third-party apps, streaming, and push notifications.
