While not having the same IOS version as John Farley, as you will see from a
related thread I've just started, I am having the same problem on an IPhone
5C running IOS 8.4.1 and was wondering how to solve it.
Having followed the instructions you posted on this thread my problem is now
solved, therefore I would agree with your comment that this method works
across all IPhones.
