Subject: [Express] A Giant Has Fallen

With deep sorrow I report the loss of a giant within the blind
community. Chris Cant died this morning wile on a walk with his dog
guide, Tex. I understand they tried to revive Chris, but all attempts
failed.

Chris was a giant of a man in stature, but he was a giant of a man in
the ways that matter most in this world. Chris gave and gave to the
blind community. He will be mourned by many, many who loved him. On a
personal level, I regret deeply that Chris and I had not spoken for a
few months. It is in tears I write this sad message.

There is a crisis in my mother's health and I had to find someone to
sit with her so I could write our family. I ask all to put aside
silly differences and come together in love and support of Chris's
death. I hope there will be memorials honoring Chris, and I invite
folks from all web sites to join in the celebration of his rich life.

My heart and support goes out to our UK friends, and those closest to Chris.

Respectfully,

Jennifer Thomas, Site Director
