Hi

Wow we’re on the subject of zip files, does anyone still use or even remember
Winzip? I recently upgraded to  version 22, after having not use the program
for years and years. What are people’s thaughts and impressions, is WinZip
still needed today on Windows 10?

Hi All and Thanks to everyone for your responses. They were interesting to
read and just a little patronising in Steve's case.
It turns out that the zip file in question had somehow become associated
with VLC Media Player and because of that the "Extract All" item had
disappeared in the context menu. Once I changed the file association to File
Explorer, the "Extract all" was back and all worked as expected.

Hope this helps someone, John

Hi,

Also don't forget, you can just press enter on a zip file, get the list
of files up inside the zip, press Control-A to select all, then
Control-C to copy to clipboard then paste them somewhere else.  They
will be automagically extracted for you.

See, that's not hard, is it. Smile>.  Just like opening a directory.

Subject: [access-uk] Extracting files in Windows 10

Hi

Extracting files in Windows 7 used to be really easy, but in Windows
10 it seems to be a real pain. Does anyone have any tips as I haven't
actually managed to unzip a file in Windows 10 yet?!

Any help welcome, John
