Hi Catherine,

The cell in question is formatted as a Date. 

If you wish to change the appearance, (which will not
actually change the figures) highlight the cell, or cells,
that contain the date, and from the format menu, select
Cells.  The dialog that comes up will them allow you to
select a Format type, such as General, Date, Number, etc.,
and you will also find in the same dialog a format for the
selected Type.
