Ok, thanks - that explains things more to me.

Still a couple of questions though.

The sheet isn't now blank as it was started by someone else and now I'm
working on it. Is there any way I can now tell it to default to Text?

Also, if I did start from scratch, how do I set the default format?

Sorry for all the extra questions, and thanks everyone for your help.

Catherin
