Well if we get problems with them, we won't buy any more. But the one I have
seems to work very well.
All the best

Hi Steve,
Yes, he's still trying to offload them. He offered them to us at a ridiculously
low price but I told my wife not to jump on the deal as they didn't seem to be
very reliable when we were selling them. Some jacks broke too easily, a few
batteries had started swelling, etc.
I guess if you got them at a very good price that you wouldn't mind replacing a
player here or there, then it's okay.

Hi Laz,
I didn't know it was abandoned, I just bought some from Daniel, so
he's still selling them.

Hi Steve,
There's no new firmware for the EVO 5 as it's an abandoned player.
They've been working on a newer one than the EVO 10 but from what
I've heard from someone who received two of them it's not as good as the EVO
10.
All I really know about it is that it uses a Type C plug for
charging/data transfer. There had been talk of changing the buttons to
somehting similar to the Victor Reader Stream/Trek but I don't know if
that's a part of the one they're working on or are probably selling by now.

So far, with my testing, I like both players for what they do.
By the way, we do have them in stock now, so anyone at Sight Village
may come see them both, and even buy them at the show.
Finally Laz, if you want me to collaborate with you on string
translations, happy to do it.
The 2.1 firmware on the E10 corrects it from saying MicroSD card
instead of SD Card when you select it as a media item. Daniel at
Vin-Vision sent me the latest firmware for the E10.
There appears to be no new firmware for the E5 though.
All the best

Sure Steve, no worries.
I recall all the work that went into doing the translation which I
need to update due to several changes in the firmware since.
Every now and then someone decides it's not simple enough for a
parent for whom they've purchased it though. Ah, well.
Wishing you much success with it.

Hi Laz,
I don't have a proper manual yet, only a Chinese auto translated one
I'd say, but I am working on it.
They are both pretty simple to use though I'd say.
Thanks for your input too, much appreciated.

I've sold the EVO 5 and now the Evo 10 so am very familiar with them.
The EVO 10 is worth getting and is much better than the EVO5.
Compared to the Stream basically a better speaker, better voices, a
bit more work to put radio stations and podcasts on them as they
don't have a built in library, and no support for protected file
formats such as from Audible.com, etc. The EVO 5 uses microSD cards
and the 10 uses SD cards.
I'm sure Steve will offer some sort of manual as I had to for my
customers.

Hello everyone,
Our good friend Steve Nutt posted an update for computer room
Services telling us the new Evo E5 and E10 DAISY players are now
available.
How do these compare with the victor reader Stream? Having read
the description, I notice they have additional features, as well as
the long battery life between charges, as well as a lower price.
Also, both models support cards up to 32GB.
where can I find a more detailed description of these players and
is there a downloadable manual? Any help most appreciated.
Best wishes,
Clive Pallett
