Does anybody have a manual for the EVO 12. Unless something has fallen

I have connected internal memory via PC and cannot find anything on there?
Sorry if I have missed something obvious.

Hi Steve
Yes I know they are, no upcoming player will get Audible I suspect.
Kind regards,

Hi Jackie,
Audible won't happen, but it's not Evo's fault, Audible are moving away
from specialist players.
All the best

Hi Mike
I will do once I've had a play with it.
I still have my VRS second gen, and Victor Trek. I don't use the GPS
feature on the latter, but I find it considerably faster to download
podcasts on it than on the VRS second gen, and connection to WiFi is also
much quicker, as is the boot time. But the battery on the Trek is frankly
woeful, and I wouldn't be impressed with Bluetooth either to be honest.
What the Stream family has over the Evo family is Audible, I don't see that
happening on the Evo players at all. I use a player every day, either for
reading or downloading podcasts so it will be interesting to see how the
Evo12 does for me in those respects. The choice of various voices on the
Evo12 has to be a plus when you think of the poor quality voice on the VRS
players. But time will tell. They all have their good and bad points.
Kind regards,
Jackie Brown

Hi Jackie
I am interested in this player as well. Having totally worn out a mark 1
VRS and two PlexTalk Pocket players in about 12 years, I need another.
And the fact the Evo has an FM radio appeals.
I would like to see you write a full review once you have your paws on it
and have played with it for a while.
A review from the point of view of a fully blind user would be most
welcome and help me to decide whether to jump.
How have you worn out two PlexTalks, I hear people ask? Well, don't fall
asleep and roll over on to your Daisy player is my best advice :)

Hi Clive
Same here, mine is also due to arrive tomorrow so I would be happy to
let people know what it is like once I have had time to play with it alittle.
You do not have folders that begin with a star, followed by DTB o r
Other books. There is a dedicated DAISY folder into which you put
such books, same with a folder containing any recordings you make.
To answer the question Mike asked, you do have an internal speaker.
Certainly the speaker on the Evo10 was superior to that on the Stream.
In fact, the speakers on the new player are stereo.
For me, the fact you have several different voices on the Evo12 is
interesting, particularly given you can choose from Ivona, Acapela,
Vocalizer and eSpeak. Steve will clarify this if I've got that wrong
though.

I don't know how searching for and downloading podcasts work, I hope
it is as easy to do this as it is on the VRS as I listen to quite a few.

Subject: [access-uk] Evo E12
Hello everyone,
As a long-time user of both versions of the victor Reader Stream for
over ten years, I have decided to go for the Evo E12 which is arrivingtomorrow.
Up to now I have been used to the restricted organisation of various
file formats, making sure they go in the appropriate folder for the
Stream to recognise them. How is this done on the Evo E12? Also, how
are podcasts downloaded?
One thing I do like is the Evo E12 will take SD cards up to 250GB.
Although the Stream officially recognises cards up to 32GB, I have had
no trouble with using a 250GB card.
Finally, what formats is the user manual in? Is there a downloadable
version?
I am looking forward to my new player and getting to grips with all
its features.
Best wishes,
Clive Pallett
