I'd recommend you call them on 0845 838 0832 and press option 3, they have
told me that their latest version is not screen reader compatible, tis a
pity as they are usually very good at accessibility .  They will probably
downgrade u to version five which is still safe, according to them.

Hi,

I downloaded a trial of Eset Smart Security and am struggling a bit.
Can anyone who uses it give me any tips?  I'm using JAWS and realize I have
to use the JAWS cursor but I find it doesn't always behave well -the cursor
sometimes seems to get stuck on certain bits of the screen.

Some specific things I have problems with:
1.  I think the virus database is not the latest one, assuming the numbers
relate to date.  Perhaps this is because I only have a trial, if not I
wonder how to make it update or set up to automatically update?

2.  When I did a scan a dll file came up as an error.  I wasn't able to read
what the type of error was as it was a case of "dot dot dot"
being displayed and I don't know if/how to scroll it.  With the actions, it
seemed my only options were to ignore it or delete it.  I figure I shouldn't
go around deleting DLLs without knowing what they're for so I ignored it.
This worries me slightly.  Any thoughts?

I'd really like to use Eset as it comes up repeatedly as reliable and
accessible but am feeling quite frustrated att the moment.  As for AVG, last
time I tried that about a year ago I found it inaccessible with unlabeled
buttons and annoying with installing toolbars I didn't want into Internet
Explorer.  But others have said they find it accessible so am beginning to
wonder about trying it again...any help on Eset gratefully received...
