That's OK. Perhaps I'm not clear enough!

Talkback gives its own speech (UK posh) which I hate!

That's why I purchased Eloquence, to stick with those voices I use all the time!

So, once I located the Eloquence on my Home Page, I set it up to sound as near as possible to the sound I have on the computer. However, I didn't see exactly what to say when I wanted Eloquence to start every time I rebooted and wasn't sure whether cancelling Talkback would in fact cancel the ability to hear anything on the phone.

Hence my questioning what to do now in order to get Eloquence permanently, if this is recommended as being safe!

Hi Carol.

Forgive me for asking, but what is the desired result you're trying to achieve?

Here's a question I haven't yet solved:

I have Talkback enabled, of course and have since purchased and used (the long-living, ever-faithful Eloquence). However, I obviously haven't said I want it from Startup and/or I don't want Talkback. Before I find myself without any speech when booting, perhaps you, or someone else who knows, could let me know what I have to do with this to achieve my desired result.

Thanks!

Thanks, Jackie, I remembered that site last night from a recent conversation and went there ... Now I'll wait for my phone and go through the Talkback tutorial.

No doubt I'll have other questions but will try not to plague everyone too much! <Smiles>

Hi all,

OK, I'm getting a bit excited, knowing I'm going to get stuck in to some new learning and getting a serious look and hands-on use of Android.

There's a heap of information out there, I now, but I basically need to
start with a list of gestures which work for VI's, so where's that "best
list". (A direct URL would be really helpful).

I'm starting the easy way, with my Moto G set up and ready to go with
Marshmallow and Eloquence installed, as my "Trusty Standby" for decent
speech, though I may delve into others later ...

Is there anything I need to know about the onboard keyboard? Any
suggestions for dual Apple/Android keyboards are welcome!

Nothing is too small or simple to tell me right now. I'm sort of in that
category where, like a person well-known to us, maybe can't answer a
call. (BTW: I think I've gleaned that one, having tried to help on that
occasion) ... but you get the gist. On or off list would be most welcome
also!

Thanks!
