No, I don't think it is. I was given that impression but looked myself yesterday and decided it was OK.

Thanks!

Hi Carol,

The Play Store is no more difficult than the iPhone app store.  I'm not sure
why you think it is so complicated.

OK, I'll give it a go when I feel competent enough to download it from the Play
Store, which I gather isn't that easy to negotiate.

BTW: If you get time and inclination to try a sound notification on this
for me, I'd sure appreciate it. I just love being able to know when
certain people have responded to an email!

Thanks.

Hi,

Haven't got time for that at the moment, listing apps.

But my favourite Mail program is Aqua-Mail.  Yes, you can put people into a VIP
list, but I'm not sure about assigning a sound, as I haven't tried that.

Oh, and Tweetings for Twitter.  The Facebook app is also quite nice now.

Thanks for the added URL, Steve. I'll take a look ...

Don't worry, the first thing I am going to do is to begin with the Talkback
tutorial. To date I have heard one podcast and gone through some of the
gestures in Marshmallow, as given on the

http://www.inclusiveandroid.com/

site.

BTW: I meant to ask you, what is your favourite mailer and what have you tried?
Oh, why is it your favourite?

Is there any way in Android, by the way, that you can do what is easily
done in the Apple mail programme (which has its own limitations) and
that is to put people you wish into a VI category, assign a sound and
you know immediately you have a response from that person, or a message
you're not expecting. It works so very well for me!

What I am looking forwad to is the freedom of moving items from computer
to phone without having to go through iTunes but still getting
everything where I want it! ...

Go on: List your top five most used apps and say anything you like about
them! <Smiles>

Hi Carol,

Two things.  First, look at this web site:-

Second, I know how patient you are to get on <Big Smile>, but I can't emphasise
enough, run the Talkback tutorial.  You can go into Settings, Accessibility,
Talkback, then Talkback Settings, then Launch The Talkback Tutorial.

Do not be tempted to skip anything, because you think you know it already, it's
a great tutorial and you will learn from it.

Hi all,

OK, I'm getting a bit excited, knowing I'm going to get stuck in to some new
learning and getting a serious look and hands-on use of Android.

There's a heap of information out there, I now, but I basically need to
start with a list of gestures which work for VI's, so where's that "best
list". (A direct URL would be really helpful).

I'm starting the easy way, with my Moto G set up and ready to go with
Marshmallow and Eloquence installed, as my "Trusty Standby" for decent
speech, though I may delve into others later ...

Is there anything I need to know about the onboard keyboard? Any
suggestions for dual Apple/Android keyboards are welcome!

Nothing is too small or simple to tell me right now. I'm sort of in that
category where, like a person well-known to us, maybe can't answer a
call. (BTW: I think I've gleaned that one, having tried to help on that
occasion) ... but you get the gist. On or off list would be most welcome
also!

Thanks!
