Is there no option to set that as a default setting once you've select empty on shut down, I'm the back of the queue when it comes toknowing my way around a computer but when something does something the once and you have to keep re-setting it, its usually because its not set as a default option.

Hi Yusuf

Yes, it will delete manually. If I uncheck then re-check the *empty deleted
items on shut down*, it empties, but it doesnt' do so on subsequent shut
downs of OE. I haven't deleted any files that might be larger than ones
when the empty facility worked in the past.

Hi Barry, If you manually delete does that work?

Have you deleted any large emails recently?

Hi all

I have OE set to empty the deleted items box every time I close the
programme but it doesn't empty. Any suggestions? I'm using XP pro and
Office 2003 pro.

Thanks
