Perhaps those of us with no light perception even fair better with it, as
you say. My heart goes out to those who are deaf-blind for this reason, I
rely on it without thinking about it.

I have no sight either, so no light perception here. I wonder if that helps
with Echo Location? I don't know anyone with sight of any kind that has

Snow is the killer, I think, because you lose kerbs as well as the echo
going!
I was interested one night when, out of the ordinary routine, I had to go to
a friend's house in the middle of the night. This was down a path which,
although quite narrow and it was gravel, the path itself wasn't particularly
(shut in). However, in the middle of the night I was much more conscious of
the density of that path and it was as if it was really gloomy! (I don't see
dark and light so I just make of that what I do! - an interesting
experience!)

interesting topic of discussion, another factor that can affect the
viability of echo location is chabnges in atmospheric pressure as
this can alter the way sound travels to a lesser or greater degree.

Hi. Did you ever try this app? All I found was a bunch of hype, a
link to a web site with even more hype and some unlabelled buttons.
It takes a special kind of ineptitude to include unlabelled buttons
in an app aimed squarely at the blind.
