Thanks for that clarification Steve.

From the look of Dolphin Easy Reader, which I’ve just downloaded to the pixel,
I can sign in to Dolphin Easy Reader with my Google account, so I’ll try
setting up the RNIB Reading Services  account using my Gmail address as well,
that way the two products will both be linked to the Gmail address.

Hi Steve, Thank you for the link for joining RNIB reading services.

Before I sign up for RNIB reading services, I have a quick question  which I’d
appreciate either yourself or Paul porter answering please.

If I’d like the book on my Pixel, do I need to create the account using that
device, or can I create the account using my PC but set it so that books
download to the pixel?

Hi Alex,

Go to https://readingservices.rnib.org.uk and create an account.

Now download Dolphin EasyReader onto your Pixel.

Next, create an account with Dolphin in EasyReader.

Next, select RNIB Reading services from the burger menu, top left, and then
sign in with your RNIB Reading Services account.

Finally, do a search for your book, and hit Download.

What you’ve said gets rid of a large amount of frustration.

I realise the answer to my next question has been covered before, but How do I
sign up for reading services?  Also, as a related question, can I download
books from reading services to either a Victor Stream or a Pixel 4A mobile
phone, i.e. do I have a choice of which device I download to, or will reading
services only work on the stream?

Please note, it’s not a problem if the answer to my last question is that
reading services will only work on the stream, it’s just that I’d appreciate
some clarification regarding that please.

Hi Steve,

Someone in Audible support whom I spoke to yesterday did offer to help with
account migration, but, she didn’t clearly understand about screen-readers and
magnification. Hence  my frustration yesterday.  I’ve had a quick glance at the
link you provided, which is the same as one of the links I was directed to
yesterday.  I can’t see any option on the page you linked to which uses the
word migrate.  All I can see is an option to sign in with my amazon account,
and the person  at audible support was suggesting I should do the migration the
other way if I understood them correctly, i.e. change the amazon address to the
Google account, or is that what you’re also suggesting?  If so, I believe I
tried signing in to audible using the Gmail address  yesterday, and it wasn’t
recognised.

I also believe that the gift which prompted this thread may now have been
removed from my Amazon Library, as a result of the frustration and problems I
had yesterday.  Hence my asking if I could access the book in Audio format via
RNIB reading services.

You can migrate your Audible account to your Amazon account, so they are both
the same.

I believe you can do that at http://www.audible.co.uk.

Hi all,

I have an amazon account, and yesterday my father wanted to order me

HMS Ulysses, by Alistair Maclean from Audible.  Although my father was able to
order this as a gift, and I was able to eventually find it in my Audible
Library, after a lot of help from someone at audible support, (which is
surprisingly  based in the Philippines).  I was unable to download the book to
my Pixel 4A android phone as the telephone number associated with my Amazon
account for contact purposes had recently been changed to my landline number,
and it seems I can’t have both my mobile number and my landline associated with
my Amazon account.  On top of that , my amazon account uses my BT Internet
address, while my phone uses my Gmail  address.

Therefore, I am wondering if there is an accessible copy of

HMS Ulysses, by Alistair Maclean I can either purchase  from the RNIB, or
obtain through RNIB reading services to read on either my Pixel 4A or my victor
stream.

On a related note, encase the only way of obtaining the book is via audible,
has anyone  successfully added an audible account linked to one e-mail address
to an amazon account linked to another address, or do I have to set up 2
different Amazon accounts, one for each e-mail address?

Sorry for such a long e-mail, but I’m just wondering if someone can advise me
on how I can access this book in either CD, Daisy, or as a download to my
phone.  Preferably not from Audible though.
