Thanks David and Steve.

Sorted now and understand! That freezing of panes, though visual, is quite clever!

Yes, that's the only way I could see of passing over one work sheet, Dave.

Thanks again.

Carol:
Steve has answered question 3.

I really don't know about 2.

With 1, however, probably the simplest would be to
highlight the sheet which you want to send. Open another
workbook and paste that sheet into it. Then send book2.

David,

Thanks for these, but now follow my questions after your
replies and some
general "snipping"!.---- Original Message ----

I asked
1 Is it possible to send EXCEL sheets (rather than the
whole workbook via
Outlook Express. I've read this is possible in Outlook
but wonder if anyone
has found a way to do it in Outlook Express?

Answer
Don't specifically know, but you could save the sheet
(rather than the whole book) and then send it as an
attachment.
That's the problem. I'm not sure just how to save the
sheet on its own.

2 In a friend's workbook, which I now use regularly,
I've noticed that,
when sorting on a column, that column is automatically
spoken by Jaws for me
to choose. However, I think this must be something she's
built in as I
haven't achieved this on my own work sheets. Anyone know
how to do it,
please? (She doesn't seem to have a clue what I mean
when I ask her, but it
does work on her sheets and not mine! <Smiles>)
answer:
if she is also using JAWS, there is a facility include
colun and row hidings within the sheet. Otherwise it
could be a function of your verbosity settings.
No, she doesn't use Jaws but her column headings were
definitely showing in
that sheet for items by which I could sort. Maybe mine
weren't because I
was using different fonts. I'll have to do some
experimenting there and
change the fonts on my sheets. What do you think?

3 With my friend's spread sheet, I also notice
something different and
can't quite fathom it: On my own sheets, CTRL+HOME
(using Jaws) causes me
to be positioned at my first cell, IE, A1. On her sheet,
I then have to
press left arrow once in order to land at the same point,
IE, her A1. Has
she just shifted cells left (perhaps to show more on
screen)? Even if this
is so, I can't reproduce it myself though, of course, can
copy it using her
sheet. If anyone knows what I'm waffling on about and
how to achieve it
then I'd be most grateful to know.
Answer:
It may be verbosity settings.
Also, she may have locked the cell.
It won't be verbosity settings because she's not using
jaws. What do you
lock the cell for and how do I check if hers is locked?

4 - and finally I love EXCEL and now have several
sheets I use. I learn
something with each new sheet but realise there's lots
more I can still
learn. Does anyone have any suggestions about good,
straightforward
tutorials for visually impaired people (preferably using
JAWS) that I'd find
useful?
Answer:
Albeit a little old, the John Wilson one is instructive.
Ah, thanks. I'd forgotten about that one. I'll locate
it.

If you can help further, that would be appreciated.
