– I have just checked dmy version of Calibre and whilst I can see the table of
books the Reader is still totally inaccessible with a screenreader.
What version of Calibre are are you using and with what screenreader?

yup calibre can definitely be used as a reader as well.

a good all rounder is calibre, it reads and converts several common document
formats. and it is a free download as well.
