Yup, but you can still come unstuck if you have part sheets used.

If you have and use the Avery Label program, you should consider Avery's own label printer, which in turn works a treat with their software. You can print one, many, or many different ones from a database if you want.

George.

Roger, can you print multiple labels, all the same or all
different?

I have a prog on my computer called Avery Labels and in
there I can use the database to print off a tonne of labels
at one go, either all the same to put in my christmas cards
or all different to provide the addresses for the envelopes,
can you do anything like this with it?

Hi Donna

I'll echo George here. I thought long and hard at spending
eighty quid
plus just to print a label. But now I have one how did I
live without it.
And the point George makes is a good one about one off
labels. A sheet of
A4 labels containing however many gets hard once it's been
started so it
is easier to write them not print them. Not in itself easy
when you can't
see the label you're writing on. Nah I now find the money
was well spent
and I'm very happy with my machine and it gets more use
all the time as I
find more and more tasks to keep it busy.

Hi Donna,

I'm not Kevin, but we do have 3 of these labellers in the
office, which are very heavily used.

What is so special about these label printers, be they
Dymo's, Seiko's, or any other personal labeller of their
type, is that they can print "one off" labels. The
alternative is usually A4 sheets of labels, and that gets
messy.

Software does come with the printers, but using Word is
not
difficult. However, it does pay to set up a label
template
for on-going use.

You do need to consider what maximum size of label you
want
to use. The cheapest ones will only do labels about 1
inch
wide, where the larger ones take at least two widths.

The printers themselves do not use ink. They use what is
known as a "Thermal Transfer Process". Although this
means
you do have to buy the proper labels, which are not
overly
expensive, you never have to worry about running out of
ink.

Once you get one of these, you'll be surprised how indispensable it becomes. If you tried to take away any from our office, you'd get your fingers cut off! (Smile)

George.

Kevin, please could you tell me how dymo label is better
than
just doing the labels in Word, cos if it's good I might
get it.
