through the registry and we cleared it that way.

You could run msconfig.exe and see if you have remind-xp in your Startup
list. If so you could disable it and/or delete it from your startup
sequence. Having a quick look at Google, it seems that spyware programs such
as Spybot might get rid of it for you.
