The simplest way to explain it is that I have heard Braille Shorthand casually 
referred to as 'grade 3 Braille".

Dear Norman,
Thank you for your post to the Access List regarding Shorthand Braille.  I have 
tempoarily unsubscribed from the list, as life is too short to read about 
individual's experiences with Braille; we all have them, and they're all 
different, but broadly the same, we use braille less for better or worse.
I am a braille fan, and would be interested in understanding more about 
"braille shorthand" is this different to grade 2?
