I heard a very distinguished broadcaster here where I live say on a
discussion re food that children should be introduced to cooking at a very
early age indeed, a good analogy I think.

Sighted kids usually are introduced to letters at say 4 years of age. Why
should a blind child not be introduced to grade 1 Braille at the same age?
