Douglas, glad you got the download in the end. Hmm, I think you should convert to NTFS before doing anything. NTFS is more secure and file access is faster. Also, there's less likely to be file/data corruption issues with NTFS than there are with Fat32. In terms of shutting down, I'm not sure about that one, but it shouldn't hurt to shut it down while the disk is being auto-defragmented, as it's not as if it's defragmenting all the time is it? Anyway just my two pence worth, and hope that helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Douglas Harrison" <harrison1d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Thanks for the suggestion Chris, but it had not been treated as Spam. Still
remains a mystery because when I repeated the process with a different e-
mail address the message came back within a minute or so and all is
downloaded ready to install and test tomorrow.

Just one query to which you, or some other list member, may know the
answer. For reasons known only to the person who sold me this laptop,
the c: partition is FAT 32 and the other two are NTFS. Hope that this does
not present a problem to Diskeeper. I intend to convert the FAT32 to
NTFS, but thought that a thorough defrag would be advisable before I did
so.

Another point which has occurred to me. As this is a lap top I tend to shut it
down more frequently than I would on a desktop. If I choose to have
Diskeeper doing its work in the background, would any complications result
from shutting down whilst a defrag was in progress?

Douglas, I would first check that you've entered the correct e-mail
address during sign up. If you have, then check your
junk/spam/bulk/whatever folder to see if it's gone in their by mistake.
When I signed up using my old Fastmail address I got the e-mail in
minutes, so can't understand why yours hasn't arrived, hence the above
suggestions. Good luck! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Douglas
