Hi Chris,

Yes, it does. The idea of defragging the swap file is to speed up boot time
and also, it makes programs load faster, because it doesn't have to go grab
fragmented parts of the swap file, so any file is worth defragging in my
view.

All the best

Steve

Carol, I don't know if it's just my machine, but I've not noticed any
degradable performance if the swap file wasn't defragmented. I have 512 MB
of RAM, and my computer runs pretty fast to how it was when I had 256 MB of
RAM, which was the original amount that came with my computer. As I say this

could be my machine, but I don't think swap file fragmentation has anything
to do with general performance, but who knows.

Douglas and all,

Have you just gone for the Home version.

I got rather confused as to which is best and would be interested in
comments from folk as to which they're using and whether I need to think of
purchasing one of the other versions for ultimate satisfaction. For
example, Steve said something about the swap file and suggested that only
one version could actually defrag this file. I'd be interested in any
discussion as to the importance of being able to do this . . ..

I'm about to start using the trial (once I've plugged in my new hard
external drive, which I'm getting later today . . . so I'm looking for more
comments on these things, please folks.

Also, I've not been able to find anything about prices for the various
versions. This information would also be helpful.
