Hi Sandra.

Thanks for the info, I had read about it on the RNIB site and was curious to know from them why the hefty price tag. The Kapten Plus which was released in 2010 and which I have recently acquired costs just under £200, the only difference I can see between the two devices are the better battery life, Daisy player, memo recording function and expandable memory. Does this command a price tag that is over double the price of its predecessor and if so, what's it all about.

All the best, Ibrahim.

Hi,
Here's the blurb about the Kapten mobility from the New Product Guide which
I received today.

Kapten Mobility voice activated sat nav (HT279)
Never get lost again. Find your location, discover what's nearby, save your
favourite
places, retrace your journey and navigate to any postcode or street address.
Kapten's
intuitive software lets you take control using the large tactile buttons or
your
voice. It's not just a sat nav though, it's also a DAISY and MP3 player to
keep you
entertained on those long journeys, as well as a voice recorder to make
notes and
reminders wherever you are. So wherever you're travelling, you'll really
feel lost
without your Kapten Mobility.
save locations with a voice recording so they will be easy to find and
return to
again
if you get lost, you can retrace your steps at the touch of a button
hear details of your route along the way with street names, junctions and
local landmarks
so you can be sure you're heading in the right direction
enter a city and street name or a postcode with the house number (please
note: house
names are not compatible) and navigate to a location you have never been to
before,
anywhere in the UK
key describer mode and instructions in DAISY format are preloaded to get you
up and
running
listen to directions using its built-in speaker or lapel speaker
long battery life (up to 18 hours).
Priced £425.00 and £510.00

Hope it's useful.

Cheers,
Sandra.
