[access-uk] Desk top/Lap top Mode

I hope someone can help me with this one.
I have an Advent 7108 lap top running XP Media Centre Edition with Jaws 9.0.
When I use the lap top I use a USB keyboard but when my wife uses it who is
fully sighted, it continually sets itself to desk top mode so the keys around L
are coming up as a number pad. We have checked the setting in Basics and also
the numlock key on the lap top keyboard but it will not change.
could someone tell me what to do please to set it so my wife can use the keys
properly.
