John - I'm using the latest version of this software [2013] and maybe it's a little different if you have an earlier version installed? I can't find any of those buttons you talk about -

Hi Andy, if you go to tuneup utilities in the start menu, arrow onto the all functions submenu containing all the individual modules, then arrow to tuneup gain disk space and press enter on it. There will be two headings, unnecessary files and windows update backup files. To clear the unnecessary files just press enter and then tab once to the clean button and press enter on it, then when it's done it tab to the close button. To clear the back up files go to where it says old backup files, press enter on it, then, using your jaws cursor look for where it shows the amount to be cleared, and you'll find a check mark. Get onto the check mark and route the cursor onto it, then tab onto the clean button and cpress enter on it, then, when it's done it tab to the close button. 
 It's a bit of a performance, but it's well worth it.

Can't see anything for Gain disc space, using the mouse cursor. It has done it's basic or standard clean up, and reports: The recommended maintenance tasks have been carried out. There are five problems that may affect system health. I can mouse around in the Start Centre, but don't seem to be able to actually click on anything that gives me any additional options, and am not sure how or where to look for setting the optimization parameters. The last thing I can read on that screen is: Econamy standard terbo 
 not configured not configuredns 50%

 No idea what this is refering too, have you? -

Hi Andy, although setting all the optimisation parameters is a bit of a performance it will do a basic analysis and optimisation without you having to set anything. If I remember from when I did it you'll find a button marked analyse now, and having done that there will be a button marked optimise or optimise all. A little tip. Make sure you run Gain Disk Space. You'd be amazed how much rubbish Windows update and other culprits leave cluttering things up. When I first ran Gain Disk Space it cleared a gig and a half of old backup files and other rubbish.

I'm on the TuneUp software.co.uk website, trying to download TuneUp2013, but the download link doesn't work for me.
If I do manage to get it, and having tried before to use CCleaner, and got a bit lost in knowing what it was ok to go ahead and run, is TuneUp more intuative? Can I do any harm with it? -

Hi Andy, I couldn't answer your exact question re manual removal of cookies and temp files in Vista, but I'd suggest you get a trial of Tune up utilities. If you run that it'll clear out all the rubbish for you.

Under Vista home premium, where do I look to find the folder that holds cookies and temp files, that it is safe to delete? I've looked in the Windows folder at the temp folder, but everything in there looks too important to remove! -
