I think you should enter the edit field on the contact name to be deleted
first.

Thanks Janet. Tried it just now and did, indeed, find the delete function.
Double tapped but no speech response, so double tapped again but the contact
was still there.
Will go on trying as it makes clear sense.

first of all go to contacts and then open up the contact you want to delete
swipe through it until you come to delete and then double tap. It will ask if
you want to delete this contact you just double tap again and there it is gone.

Good morning list,
How do I delete a contact from the contacts list? Using Iphone 5C and latest
update of software, 8.4.
This has bugged me for months. Yesterday I eventually came across “delete
contact”, double tapped on that and nothing happened. Could somebody please
give me an idiot’s walk through on how?
