Hi Justin
It wasn't from the deleted box that the messages disappeared, they all went
from the in box and, before I closed oe, I checked the deleted box and the
deleted files weren't there.

Barry, have a look in the tools menu, hit options and go to Maintainance
tab. the first check box you come to says something like "empty delete
  folder on exit."

is that box checked? if it is, any messages deleted are sent to the deleted
folder for as long as OE is open. when closed down, the deleted messages
  are gone.

  just something i thought of.

deleted all the messages in my in box. They are not in my deleted box. Any
  idea what happened?
