Hi Roger, many thanks for taking the time to help. No my external HD is in NTFS format. I don't know, maybe it's because the two folders were quite big folders?

I've just done a search on Google for Get Data Back and notice that there is a NTFS version as well as a FAT version. You mentioned you used the NTFS one. I seem to recall it was recommended that external drives for some reason should be configured as FAT. If this is as yours is would that not explain why if found nothing?
