Hi Andy.

I suggest you email your problem to support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx It could be an
error with the software or a problem with your specific system or the file your
converting which is forcing the software to slow the conversion to a snails
pace.

All the best and sorry I can't help further.

  Hi Ibrahimm -

I couldn't find a menu for preferences, just settings, and the only thing
there that might make a difference according to the help file, is the trouble
shooting slider, currently set to 0, it's other options being 25% 50% 75% and
100%. I've now moved it to the latter setting, but don't want to stop the
current conversion, as it has now been running for 2-and-a-half-hours! and
stand at 34% converted! I tried converting the same file with trouble shooting
set to 100% as if it were a second file to be converted, while the first one
continues at it's snails pace, but the second file seems to just be queued
waiting for the first one to finish.

Can you tell me where I might find the 'real time' setting you mentioned,
like I said, I've no menu called preferences that I can see.

  Thanks -

  Andy

    Hi Andy.

Check the preferences of sound taxi, there is a slider for real time
conversion which changes the conversion speed to a crawl for those having
difficulties. You need to make sure this slider is all the way over to the
left at 0%. Also, check your pc's performance rating in the preferences
dialog, this will be a percentage and will tell you how likely it is that
you'll get best performance from the software. A whole range of factors from
cpu speed and available memory will be taken in to account, but you want to
make sure that this figure is as high as possible for the best conversion
results.

All the best and I hope the above tips have helped you some.

      Hi all -

I use to be able to do this with Goldwave, but no longer with the latest
Audible download manager, that is why I bought Sound Taxi, but at the moment, I
am trying to convert a title of 100mb to mp3, and it is taking for ever! So
far, it has taken 20 minutes to convert 4 percent of the file, at that rate, it
is going to take over 8 hours to complete, which is longer than the real time
listneing of the file, which is 7 hours; this is using the pro version of the
software!

Anybody say why this conversion is so slow, or suggest another programme
to do this kind of file conversion more quickly?

      Thanks -

      Andy
