I have speakers plugged in to my second gen echo dot and get stereo.
a google mini doesn’t have a headphone jack.

fitting tightly into the socket on the Echo Dot – I see Amazon have echo
dot’s on half price at the mo so may just get one of the newer versions too

Hi All,
And a very merry Christmas to you all!!
I have an old amplifier and speakers which I’d like to be able to play music
on from the internet / my phone. I currently have a phono cable with a 3.5mm
headphone jack on it which I’ve been using to manually connect to my iPhone
when I want to play music through it. I’d like however to be able to do this
wirelessly and so one of the thoughts I had was to connect an Echo dot or
similar device via the headphone jack to the amp. I’ve just tried it and
found that the audio from the Echo dot only comes out of one of my speakers,
does anyone know if the Echo dot’s headphone socket is only capable of mono?
I was also thinking I could get a Bluetooth audio receiver to do the similar
thing but I like the idea of being able to use an Echo dot or Google mini to
be able to play music via it.
Hope this all makes sense and someone can come up with some suggestions /
solutions.
I have tried looking on the specs of the Echo dot but can’t find what I need.
