Why not just word process your answers to the questions and email it off to
Guide Dogs. They can then put it in a table if it's so important to do this.

Hi Andy,
I work for Guide Dogs, so I took the liberty of finding out about this form.
It uses text boxes, which it shouldn't. We've asked them to change the form
for future use, and I can send you a copy of the form we've asked them to use
if it would make your life easier. It doesn't have the personal information
you mention because the assistive team at Guide Dogs don't have access to
that, but I assume you could transfer that from the document you have already
received. Answering the questions would then be easier for you.
Just for information, there is a way for JAWS users to work on text boxes,
but it's not elegant. Press Ctrl + Shift + O and you'll get a list of them;
press Enter twice on one to type into it, and press Escape twice when you've
finished and what to return to the main document. There is no way of knowing
which text box is associated with which question, but as there are six
questions and six text boxes, you can guess.
Hope that helps,
Steve

Subject: [access-uk] Completing a report form for Guide Dogs
Hi all.
I've just got a lovely new Guide Dog and they wish me to complete a form for
the next six months at monthly intervals.
The Guide Dogs have sent me the form and when I open it, with Win 17 and
JAWS, I'm in a table.
As I press the Tab key, I find that all the fields are already completed with
my name, my dogs name, registration date etc.
However at the bottom of this table, I need to use the down arrow to complete
the detail of Josh's work, over the month.
JAWS lets me know that I'm in a box area, but if I start typing, I seem to be
typing in front of the box title.
I think I need first to enter the box so that I can insert text, but don't
know how to do this.
Any advice would be very appriciated as my first report should have been sent
three weeks ago.
Thanks in advance.
Very best wishes.
Andy.
