I wouldn't ever want someone to send me an expensive item via AFB, there is
no come-back if it gets damaged or lost. I'm more than happy to pay
postage, and I accept that it normally takes two days with couriers such as
DPD to ship to NI. I just think Cobolt is wrong, and instead of burying
their heads in the sand and just saying 'well it's what we charge', they
ought to look at courier services if ParcelForce is insisting it's £41.

The problem with Articles For The Blind labels, is that the product is not
insured. If I sent you a Blindshell using Articles For The Blind, I would
expect you to bear the risk, if it got damaged. Would you?

Hi Jackie. That is totally disgusting for cobolt to charge that amount.
I have sent 2 KG parcels, in the recent past to australia, for £20. And that
was first class signed delivery.
I think from memory, that cobolt, send parcels through DPD, or some other
courier service. But it should be nowhere near that price.
Why can't they use articles for the blind labels?

Apologies for the following rant but I am very angry about this.
As some will know, Cobolt Systems sell the Blind Shell Classic phone. But
what most of you probably don't know is that this company persists in trying
to charge shipping to Northern Ireland of £41. When we bought our handsets
towards the end of last year, we were first advised a charge of £41 would be
applied per phone, then £20 per phone, depending on who dealt with your call
at their end. We complained about this, and were charged £20 to have our
handsets, bought on separate occasions, shipped to NI.
I am absolutely livid to learn that a gentleman tried to purchase one of
these phones from Cobolt this week, and is being quoted £41 to ship it to
Northern Ireland. It doesn't seem to matter how many times you tell Cobolt
that NI is part of the UK, they seem to be charging this amount. If you are
lucky, you might get someone called Paula at their end who, at least, has a
grain of common sense in charging £20 per item. I still think this is
excessive given the size of the package, but at least it's not £41. Cobolt
say that they have to charge this amount for postage because the phone has a
battery!!!!!!
So now that both Steve Nutt and Mo Iqbal sell this phone, which wasn't the
case when we bought ours, please buy from either of them, especially if you
live in NI. I've heard the saying 'robbing the blind', but this really does
take its meaning to a whole new level. I've never been charged £41 anywhere
in the world, so how Cobolt insist on this I can't fathom, but take note if
you live in these parts.
