  Hi Eleanor.

Well, that's something that we could debate about all day *smile*. Blindness
related products are always going to be more expensive than their sighted
counterparts, I myself would like to see a talking panel on all my kitchen
appliances IE washing machine, cooker etc and take full advantage of all the
functions that the sighted enjoy.

  All the best, Ibrahim.

Sorry Ibrahim the point I was really making is that for the speech, the
little there is (but essential no doubt) costs a lot of money.

      Hi Eleanor.

In point of fact, the microwave that Cobolt use is made by LG
electronics, and is very high quality. They're not going to put a speech
module in to a cheap and inferior product. I don't think Cobolt could or would
try to get away with that.

      All the best, Ibrahim.

I am told that its high cost relates to the speech and not to the
standard of microwave, that it is just a standard microwave.

It does not have a visual display but I am fairly sure the actual
buttons are marked visually so a sighted person should be able to use it.

I checked my Emails late last night and may have picked this up wrong
being half asleep, but did Ibrahim or someone say that the Cobolt talking
microwave with oven and grill does not have a visual display? This surely would
make it difficult for sighted people to use who didn't want to use speech?
There are sighted people who live with me so if there was no display then the
device would not be suitable.
