Hi Barry,

I've taken a look at the page, and with my very limited knowledge and experience I can see no reason why the designer has chosen to use clickable elements as opposed to plain links. Hopefully someone more clued up can take over from here. Incidentally, I've experienced problems in accessing the elements with just pressing enter, I've had to use the mouse and left-click them. This makes me feel this could be tied in with JavaScript, but again I'm more than willing to stand corrected on this.

Thanks, Mark. That makes the process much clearer, but it doesn't explain
why a site I'm looking at has used it:

www.calderdaledart.org.uk

The clickable links are all at the top of each page. Some of them are
poorly labled size adjustments, but I don't understand why the first three
are not just links. If you wouldn't mind taking a quick look, I'd very much
appreciate it. If you don't have the time/inclination, that's not a
problem.

Cheers

Barry

Hi Barry and list,

HTML allows the author of a page to set an OnClick attribute for most HTML
elements to run specified code such as JavaScript or Visual Basic Script
when clicked with the left mouse button. To access these items, move to the
item and press ENTER. HTH.

Hi guys

What does it mean when Jaws announces that an item on an internet page is
clickable?

Cheers

Barry
