Hi Mo.As I said in my message to carol, you always need to look at the pricing for the various countries you need to call before signing up with your provider or using them in the case of Dialacode. I mainly call the US, Canada, Australia and countries in Western Europe so the services are pretty much the same across the board regarding rates. In fact my phone company TalkTalk offers an international calling plan which I receive completely free of charge on my line and I can call 20 or so destinations for that. All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Mobeen Iqbal Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2012 11:59 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Cheap phone calls, sims, and text for abroad Hi Ibrahim. Many thanks for the link! something to bare in mind is that although i trust its an excellent service, i have found call with us to be cheaper as they're charging in US not UK Currency. The service is also pay as you go by default, so you only pay for what you use unlike foo call where the call charges only drop when you're on a monthly plan. For example, 10P per minute on pay as you go verses 4 P on call with us to call the middle east. even on their monthly plan its 6.5P. The good thing is that foo call offer clients for many devices, but all you'd have to do if using call with us is configure a sip client built in to most phones these days, you wouldn't need a specific app. an interesting system though, thanks for sharing! With Foocall you can make international calls from mobiles and landlines either with the app or with local numbers in many different countries and if you have an internet connection, you can make calls over the net as they have a SIP web phone built in to their site, perfect if you have access to free Wi-Fi.All the best, Ibrahim. -----Original Message----- From: Mobeen Iqbal Sent: Tuesday, December 11, 2012 4:19 PM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Cheap phone calls, sims, and text for abroad Hi Richard. There is an excellent company that i use called call with us. You top up the account before you go, and they have local access numbers for every country a bit like a calling card system. you dial the local number and the only charges you pay are the local charges for that country. www.callwithus.com all the best, Mo. If you want tocreate an account, maintain a credit balance and use mobile minutes,www.dial2save.co.uk offers an international calling card service which you can top up by text or PayPal. In the long term it is much cheaper as it uses your mobile minutes so only has to carry the international part of the call, however do check the rates before calling as some countries can bevery expensive to call though I doubt Kenya is one of them. All the best, bon voyage and have a wonderful trip. I'm finding out things I have not known before! Anyone who comes from kenya willbe of Particular interest to me right now! SmileyI am using the cheapcalls.co.uk For calls from my landline which works well for me. Has anyone a recommendation for calls from mobile to keep the costsdown, please? In addition, I have looked at and tried out one or two of the free texting services only to discover the texts didn't arrive, so no go with those! I'm with O2 so don't want to send texts at their price, unless anyone knows of a good deal. If anyone can suggest another alternative, preferably for whichI don't have to sign up, this would be useful. Finally, anyone know what sim is used in the C5 and in the N86, please? I'd also like to get hold of sims for Kenya before getting there and wonder ifthis is possible or whether I should just get them once I arrive. As always, many thanks for any information you can give on the above.
