I think he is trying to change the Windows system voice – not the Narrator
voice. These are not necessarily the same. They are different on my system for
example.
He needs to avoid Narrator settings and instead concentrate on changing the
Windows system voice to work with his games.

Hi,
You can change it as I said by typing change text in the search bar.
You can also change it in Narrator Settings.

Hello Steve,
I've just started Narrator, susan is the default voice. I also have some games
from Spoonbill software, which come under Blind Gamers, and they use the
installed Windows text-to-speech voices. These are using david for the voice,
and I would like susan to speak. There isn't a setting in the games to change
the voice, only the speech rate. Any suggestions?
Best wishes,
