Hi James,
In some cases with RNIB's volunteers it can very much be the luck of
the draw.
There are quite a few of the volunteers whose full time job is in the
I.T. field, and so are well qualified to assist.

Let me say first that I am not trying to insult anyone here. Why
bother with someone from the RNIB though? I would much rather have a
qualified technician to come and fix my computer issues. I may have to
pay, but at least I would know I would be getting what I paid for.

that is why I pay him but I have used RNIB volunteers in the past and
they have been excellent. What they are like these days I do not know
but I have heard others on the list speak well of them.
