I have found 3 and 4 work very well. Their cost is also minimal.

Yes, Clive, I understand that, and if that's all it is, then surely the
solution is pretty simple:
1. Assuming we're dealing with a PC user, then why not write the particulars
in a file and read them back when required; or
2. Record them on one of the many portable devices available; or
3. If a Braillist use Braille; or
4. have some memory training!

cards!

Hi Richard,

If you are paying for anything over the phone, you will be asked to say the
sixteen-digit number on the card, the expiry date, and sometimes but not
always, the three-digit security number on the back of the card. If you've
forgotten the long number, and there's no sighted person around, you might
need to read it out somehow. This is rather sad though. I have a portable
device I use for reading the long, raised number on my visa card if I need
to. It's called...a tongue!

Best,
Clive

What exactly is the situation in which you need to know the numbers?

Subject: [access-uk] Card reader for reading Visa/debit and master cards!

Hi All,

I know this is a bit of a longshot but is there such a portable device as
something that would read the numbers from say a Visa/debit card, master
card etc?.

Thanks for any help on this.

Paul.
