They usually do come on a CD with the drivers, but over time the CD's
get lost.

What help files? I have simply connected the printer and selected it
from the choice of printers. I do not lift the top but lift a part in
a direction downwards and outwards towards myself as I am in front of
it.

lift the top cover of the printer? think that's how most are
done, or maybe consult the help files?
