that is my problem, it is not moving to the centre and staying. i can see it
move across but it is not lying where I can get hold of it but is resting to
the right.

Hi Eleanor.
Martin is correct, you need to lift the top cover of the printer, make sure
its switched on and the ink head will move to the centre of the aperture.
