Hi JohnTried this and still no joy. I am getting the same message as before when I go to add new hardware and try to reinstall. It is saying a help and support system service can not run. It tells me to go to start menu and click on help and support. When I do this it again tells me a help and support system service could not be found and tells me to click on help and support in the start menu-which is what I am trying to do! So it seems that some help and support files have either got corrupted or removed. Anyone any ideas what to do next?

Hi Barbara, if I'm understanding you right the drive is showing up in device manager. Something you could try, which I've known sometimes to do the trick in cases like this is to uninstall the drive in device manager. Highlight the drive and uninstall will be on the context menu.. Click ok and then reboot. With any luck windows will reinstall it. Give it a spin and let me know what happens.John.----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Wilson" <barkingbabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2009 9:03 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re: CD/DVD driveYes, no joy.
