I have written about CCTV's used in employment and education. Most of the
larger Suppliers can rely on these markets for the core of their income.
As there doe's not seem to be a price issue.
Even with the private sector price is not really an issue for the larger
Suppliers, that is if you target the right people.

Sight Village would have confirmed this. All the larger suppliers downstairs in
the main hall with impressive stands and lots of sales people ready to "close
the sale".
As you might of guessed the target is the elderly.

This is a generation of people, most of which do not understand technology and
do not want to learn now. If you gave them a computer free of charge they would
probably give it you back.

The traditional CCTV will always be a " winner" with these people. The unit is
large and the picture is clear, no tiny control buttons, no messy wires, they
can once again see handwritten letters from their family and friends. Pictures
of their grandchildren can once again be viewed and admired.

They will put it in a spare room in their home and will not want to move it
just in case they damage it. They will think that £2300 is nothing compared to
getting back a little bit of independence. Most of these people with suffer
from age related M.D. and I guess different to the majority of people on this
list.

There is a plenty of elderly who cannot afford to pay thousands for a
traditional CCTV and will look towards using small hand held cameras that link
to a normal TV. This helps them read the TV times, letters, bank statements
etc. in the comfort of their own armchair.

CCTV manufacturers do have the most difficulty in supplying the next
generations down. Those people where computers and technology have played an
important part in their life. These people more switched on to the cost of
technology. This will be my next thing to discuss.

Regards
Colin
