Hi Adrian.Perhaps you would be better looking at closed back headphones so that your Dad won't hear ambient sound to distract him from his TV and you won't hear any bleed from them if they are turned up loud.
Have a look at something like the Sennheiser HD 65 Closed Dynamic TV Over-Ear Headphones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD-65-TV-Independent/dp/B004DOX70O/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1420139980&sr=8-4&keywords=sennheiser+tv Regards. Kevin-----Original Message----- From: Adrien Collins

He has to have the tele loud, we all get deafened. I was looking for something portable, lightweight and comfortable with a good sound. The HD239 are all of the above, and come in a draw-string bag. They don't fold, and the cable is attached to the left earphone with the band going over the head. What I really like about these headphones is the gain on them. All too often, it is difficult to obtain a decent volume, but these are nice and not tinny either. Their rrp is £89.99, but now might be a good time to look around if you are in the market, Amazon are currently doing them for £69.99. Not the cheapest headphones, but certainly cover comfort, lightweight design and a good sound.
