Hi Carol.
Sounds like you have the wrong tag information stored for the actual track
that plays.
You can edit the information in iTunes by using control + I when focused on
the track in question.
The first tab gives you summary information such as the file type, size and
location. Unfortunately, since version 11 of iTunes, this screen has been
inaccessible to Jaws 13. Not sure if you can use it with Jaws 15 using your
Jaws cursor to review the information.
The next tab in the dialogue is the information tab and here you can tab
through each item such as artist, album, track title and simply enter the
appropriate values.
In the control + I dialogue, you are changing the ID3 tags stored in the
music file itself whether it be an MP3 file or AAC file.

Well, I sorted out how to do this from your instructions and you certainly
did very well from memory!
I think I now need to get some more Itunes podcasts, focusing specifically
on one particular aspect at a time, eg how to optimise latest Itunes for use
with Jaws. (That's only an example, by the way.) In other words, I'm looking
for some lessons now.
I know Jonathan Mosen's podcasts are very good but they're more overviews
than specifics and don't give one time to take in one particular process.
Have you, or anyone else, any podcasts to recommend based on the above?
Finally, do you have an answer to the following problem which I created by
not understanding which files I was supposed to delete having made ring
tones. I now find that one of my songs has all the information about that
song but always plays another track! I just don't know what to do about it.
Thanks for any help you or anyone else can offer on this.

To create a ring tone in iTunes:
1. Ensure that you have preferences set to convert to AAC when importing
2. Locate the track in iTunes and use control 6 I to edit the details
3. In the Options or Advanced tab, not sure which, there is a start and
end time. Set this so that it is for the portion you want as your ring
tone and make sure it is no more than 30 seconds
4. Now that's done, use the applications key when focused on the track
and choose convert to AAC from the menu
5. When complete in a second or two, you will now see 2 entries in your
iTunes library for that track
6. Use control 6 C to copy the tone file you'e just created and paste it
into your documents library or some other folder
7. Use the rename from file menu when focused on that tone file and
change the extension from M4A to M4R. You will of corse need to be able
to see the extension and so have this set to show in folder options
8. Now back in iTunes, use file menu and select Add File. Navigate to
the folder with your tone and press enter.
9. Your tone will now import and go into the tone section of iTunes and
will sync to your iPhone if you have it set to sync tones
When finished, don't forget to delete the shortened music track you
created during this process and also to remove the start and end time
values in the original music track.
This is from memory and so I hope it's pretty much there for you to use
with a bit of tweaking perhaps where my memory has let me down.

Hi all,
Please can anyone help with the following:
1) My contacts miraculously appeared on my desktop soon after I started
installing items, which is great, but haven't done so on my new laptop.
How can I get these to my second machine in the most efficient manner?
2) Although I can sometimes get Outlook Express to work successfully
when using options with the Shft6F10 menu and making an appropriate
choice; in some circumstances I'm told that I don't have an email
programme installed and, if I have, I should go to Control Panel and
associate it with ... Oh dear, where do I go? Just can't find that one!
3) I'm tearing my hair out with ITunes these days and have always
loathed it but always give in and use it to avail myself of my phones apps
etc. I've been making ring tones and looked at loads of Help docs on
changing the m41 extension of a file to m4r. However, I get lost in
following the directions. I've tried a few converter apps, one of which
worked great first time then wouldn't oblige again and aa few required me
to log in and sign up, which I really object to having to do all the time!
Can anyone help me with the instructions in creating a ring tone (M4R)
from scratch, or suggest a really good utility to change the file types?
Thanks for any help you can give on these. Sorry I'm not that good with
the computer these days ...
