I received an audio book in M4A format and converted it to MP3 using
Goldwave. It was a bit long winded as I had to do it one file at a time but
it did work.
I simply opened each file and used the Save As facility in Goldwave, saved
each file as MP3 and then deleted the M4A file and repeated the process.

Thanks for the idea, but I specifically do not wwant to use iTunes which is
why I asked for a utility recommendation. I have a MacBook dual booted with
macos and win7 and I copy out the m4a files from the MacBook itunes media
folder after they have been downloaded, but I buy the albums using the
iPhone first. Apart from despising iTunes with a passion, I am not competent
enough on the mac to find my way around it for tasks such as this. That's
why I want to do it in windows with a simple conversion utility.
Unfortunately, I've downloaded and tried a couple but they don't want to
workor are simply not intuitive with supernova reader.
